Collaborative Divorce

Working together with a focus on the future.

Collaborative Divorce is a family-focused decision-making process whereby parties work together with their specially trained Collaborative Divorce lawyers to find creative solutions to their divorce issues while avoiding Court. The parties commit to providing full disclosure of all relevant information throughout the process.

This process can also work for negotiating Cohabitation Agreements. It is simply a negotiation process which focuses on respectful communication and resolution.

Will Collaborative Divorce work for me?

If you agree to the following statements, Collaborative Divorce may be for you:

  • I want to avoid having the Court decide my future.
  •  My children’s needs are my priority, and therefore, I want to reduce conflict between the other party and me.
  •  I want to prioritize self-care and focus on the future.
  •  I want a quick and efficient resolution while keeping costs low by negotiating in 4-way meetings rather than through letter-writing.
  •  I want my Collaborative Divorce lawyer to help me understand my rights and obligations before I make long-term decisions, and I believe my needs and interests will be brought to the table.

Feature Film produced by Stephanie Dobson

The Essential Link between Creativity, Innovation and Collaborative Divorce: Perspectives from Around the Globe, is produced by Stephanie Dobson, highlighting the 2022 theme for World Creativity & Innovation Week (WCIW) of “Collaboration” in conjunction with the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

This video shares the perspective of how essential creativity and innovation is to Collaborative Divorce, and highlights how this Process uses these concepts to provide deeper and more meaningful resolution to families experiencing family breakdown so that they can create a healthy, thriving family moving forward into their next chapter of life.

Featured are 10 Collaborative practitioners from around the world, including the founder of Collaborative Practice, Stu Webb, all of whom describe the power of Collaborative Divorce on a practical and foundational level.

Get Started

Contact us to book a 5-minute phone call. We will explain the Collaborative Divorce process in detail and gauge whether the other party is willing to hire a Collaborative Divorce lawyer. It needs to be a match for both parties. If not, it is possible for us to represent you as your lawyer and do a modified form of the process.

If you’re looking to reduce costs and achieve a more meaningful resolution, learn more about our Workbook Package. This package allows your family to independently work through some issues, while leaning on our expertise for more complex decisions.
